Image Ownership & Copyright
All photographs created by Carlos Sanchez Photography are protected under U.S. copyright law.
Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, Carlos Sanchez Photography retains full copyright ownership of all images created during a session. This is standard practice within the photography industry and allows for consistency, quality control, and proper use of the work across platforms.
Retaining copyright does not prevent clients from using their images. Instead, it ensures that image usage is clearly defined through a licensing agreement that reflects how the images are intended to be used.
Client Image Usage
Clients receive a limited license to use their images, as outlined in their agreement or digital image license. These licenses are designed to cover common, appropriate uses based on the type of session booked—whether personal, organizational, or professional.
If you have specific or extended usage needs beyond what was originally discussed, those can always be reviewed and accommodated when possible.
Image Integrity & Alterations
To protect the integrity of the work, images may not be heavily altered, re-edited, sold, or redistributed outside the scope of the granted license without written permission.
Basic cropping or resizing for display purposes is always acceptable. If you need additional adjustments or alternate versions, I’m happy to help.
